About us
Have you ever try to buy a laptop and feel totally confused because there is too many options in market? Or even worse, you bought one laptop and after some time you realise it is not correct for your work, your budget, or your daily using? I also faced this problem, and this is the main reason I started LaptopInsight.
The mission of LaptopInsight is very simple: to make India’s most trustable and data-based laptop reviews.
We believe the real trustable laptop reviews must come from objective and independent testing of every single machine, with proper scores, awards, and expert opinion that can help you to choose the right laptop according to your need, budget, and use case.
We call our work as “Reviews Backed by Real Data” because we are committed for making independent and objective side-by-side comparison reviews, which is based on deep hands-on testing and actual performance numbers.
This is how we are doing it:
- We pick the top laptops in each category, after checking hundreds of models in gaming, ultrabook, productivity, and student segments.
- We buy laptops from retail, from brand stores and local shops in different parts of India, same way like you also will buy. This helps us to keep full objectivity and independence in our ratings. We don’t depend on cherry-picked review units which company sends to reviewers.
- Our testing team run every laptop through one standard 72-hour test cycle, which covers synthetic benchmarks, long sustained workloads, thermal behaviour, display calibration, and also real-world daily usage. We carefully check performance, build quality, and long-term reliability of the machine.
- We give score to each laptop on a weighted 100-point system, we explain the reason behind the score, and we give awards to the best performer in every category.
- After our testing and review work is done, we keep many laptops with us as a calibration set for future reviews, and we also cross-check our results with verified performance data from our network of professional testers in India, Canada, UK, Australia, Europe, and South-East Asia.
How We Are Making Money
LaptopInsight is one free service which is fully supported by the readers only. We are selecting and reviewing the products in objective and independent way. We are only earning money when you are clicking on our affiliate links and buying the products which we have reviewed, and this is helping to support our testing work.
If you click on any amazon link on our site and do any purchase, the Amazon India will give a small portion of that sale for helping to support this site. It will not cost anything extra to you, and it is a simple way for helping us to fund our laptop reviews. Thank you so much for supporting our work!
Independent Product Selection
Our review process starts with selection: we look at hundreds of laptops for finding out the top contenders in every category. Then we go to brand store, local store and test them. We are also keeping a separate network of professional testers in India and even in foreign countries, who are testing the laptops and providing us with verified performance data.
We do not accept paid placements
We will not be taking any cherry-picked review units from the manufacturers and we will also not be taking any paid endorsements or sponsored rankings. Our focus is only on creating the content for benefit of our readers, and we are aligning our business model only towards our reader’s interest. No brand can purchase a better score from us and no “Best” list will be affected by the affiliate commissions.
Commitment to Testing
We’re working on one objective lab test per category, which is providing a good foundation for scoring and is helping us to quantify the key differences between the various laptops.
All laptops are being tested using one standardised testing plan and this is highlighting the differences in key performance. We are using the synthetic benchmarks such as Cinebench R23, Geekbench 6, 3DMark Time Spy and CrystalDiskMark to get the raw performance data.

Following that, we’re pairing the benchmark scores with real-world workloads, long-term gaming with AAA and esports games, developer workloads (such as compiling a large codebase and running a multi-container Docker workload), and colour accuracy, brightness and panel response testing.

We are also conducting battery run-down tests in coding, browsing and video-playback scenarios.

Our testers are the people who know their stuff: software developers, hardware buffs, gamers, and professionals who use laptops in challenging situations every day. All of them have a keen eye for detail and one thing in mind: getting the best machine for their money. We’re expanding our testing network across countries, so we can be sure that our results are not just one sample, or one climate.
Making Honest Test
We are putting a lot more effort in our reviewing process than the typical laptop reviews that you see online. We are collecting more than 50 data points for each machine, running 10+ individual tests, and also maintaining one database of 140+ laptops which are actively tested, going back till 2014. However, we believe that the best laptop reviews are those that take the time to test the products thoroughly and compare the competing machines objectively.

We can’t just know whether the reviewers liked or disliked the laptop when we are reading reviews. We want to know how it compares to all the other top laptops in the market and why one laptop is better than another for a particular purpose. Normally we’ll be creating scores, data, photos and videos that are easily comparable from one laptop to other one, so you can compare between ASUS Duo flip and Macbook Pro on the same metrics, such as Cinebench R23 multi-core score, sustained CPU wattage, sRGB and DCI-P3 coverage, etc.

If you are enjoying our objective and independent testing, please share with your friends about LaptopInsight and help us to expand and provide funding for our free service.

Our Promise to You
Every laptop we suggest on this website, it is the same one which I will also tell to my own family members, because actually some of them already came and asked me before. No brand is giving us money for doing testing on their laptop. No brand can buy one higher score from us also. No shortcut, no exception, and no paid placement is there.
So please go and check our reviews, then tell me if we are reaching our goal or not. If more questions are coming in your mind, kindly drop one comment on any review, or you can email also. I will be very happy to hear from your side, and specially I am encouraging that type of feedback which is helping us to become more better. With your help only, we can make LaptopInsight as India’s most trusted source of information for laptop buyers like you people.
Who’s Behind LaptopInsight?
It is us only! Our team is fully loaded with hardware lovers, software developers, benchmark testers, and writers, and all of us are having one passion, that is to help you in finding the correct laptop without doing any guesswork.
And it is not finishing when the working week is getting over, because the actual reason we made this thing into our job is that we are truly mad behind technology. Every morning, lunch time, evening, and also in weekends, you will find someone from our team is doing benchmark on one new machine, opening the hinge mechanism for teardown, putting stress test on thermals, or doing big argument that IPS panel is better or OLED panel is worth the extra price.
At LaptopInsight, our motive is simple only, we want to make one informative and trusted website which is giving you all the data which you are needing to buy the right laptop, and also to confirm that every suggestion from our side is backed by real numbers, real testing, and zero brand influence is there.
